Halloween 2009

I'm a bit behind these days. It's 4 days away from Thanksgiving, and I'm just getting around to posting about Halloween. Whaddya do. Anyways, we had such a fun time on Halloween. Now that Conner is almost 4, he "gets it" more and more each year. And Logan just has fun whatever he is doing. Conner started out the week dressing up as a Race Car driver, but I could tell he wasn't too thrilled with this costume. The best part about the costume was that it totally accentuated his little gut......so mean, but really funny. We ended up getting him a Policeman costume for party #2, which he absolutely loved. Logan got the hand-me-down Fireman costume, so they went perfectly together.

After a week full of parties, we were all eager to start trick or treating. We started the night at the Broomands Halloween party, which was really fun. They went ALL out...........completely transformed their garage, borrowed a bounce house for the kids, and had tons of "scary" food. Once it got dark, we took the boys trick or treating all over the hood. They LOVED it......just sprinting from house to house.

We got home, and all day we had told Conner about the "magic pumpkin". We gave him the option to keep all of his candy, or give his candy to the magic pumpkin, and he would get a toy in return. I never thought I would be "that mom" to be so lame as to take my kids candy away :) ! But Conner turns into a bit of a crazy kid when he is on a sugar high, so it was more for Mom & Dad's sanity! He choose the toy option, and it worked like a charm!! The magic pumpkin gave him a new firetruck, and Conner was sooooo fired up about it. It was super cute. We are going to keep doing this tradition while we can get away with it......which we know is limited. Can't wait to do it all again next year!
