I recently took the boys to our Mom's club Holiday party. Of course, Santa was there, and I really wanted a cute picture of the boys sitting on his lap. We patiently stood in line as I gave them both a pep talk about how nice Santa is, and they reluctantly listened. When it was finally our turn, they both would not sit on his lap. Santa had a little present for them, so I told Conner he wouldn't get the present unless he sat on his lap......I know, so mean ;) They finally got on his lap, but they were NOT happy about it. Logan immediately started crying, but Conner hung on 'till he got his present, then immediately bolted.

Halloween 2009

I'm a bit behind these days. It's 4 days away from Thanksgiving, and I'm just getting around to posting about Halloween. Whaddya do. Anyways, we had such a fun time on Halloween. Now that Conner is almost 4, he "gets it" more and more each year. And Logan just has fun whatever he is doing. Conner started out the week dressing up as a Race Car driver, but I could tell he wasn't too thrilled with this costume. The best part about the costume was that it totally accentuated his little gut......so mean, but really funny. We ended up getting him a Policeman costume for party #2, which he absolutely loved. Logan got the hand-me-down Fireman costume, so they went perfectly together.
After a week full of parties, we were all eager to start trick or treating. We started the night at the Broomands Halloween party, which was really fun. They went ALL out...........completely transformed their garage, borrowed a bounce house for the kids, and had tons of "scary" food. Once it got dark, we took the boys trick or treating all over the hood. They LOVED it......just sprinting from house to house.

We gave him the option to keep all of his candy, or give his candy to the magic pumpkin, and he would get a toy in return. I never thought I would be "that mom" to be so lame as to take my kids candy away :) ! But Conner turns into a bit of a crazy kid when he is on a sugar high, so it was more for Mom & Dad's sanity! He choose the toy option, and it worked like a charm!! The magic pumpkin
gave him a new firetruck, and Conner was sooooo fired up about it. It was super cute. We are going to keep doing this tradition while we can get away with it......which we know is limited. Can't wait to do it all again next year!

The dreaded ER
UGH......what a day.
I took the boys to the grocery store, and let them run in the garage while I brought the groceries inside. I set the groceries down, and walked out to the garage to get them. In a matter of 90 seconds, they had managed to find an empty bottle of tire cleaner, and spray it in each other's mouths! Luckily, the bottle had been empty, so they "just" got a little of the resin in their mouths. Conner got some around his mouth too, and started to develop a rash.....press the panic button. I called poison control, and they told me to get the boys to the ER ASAP. Double UGH.
Poison Control had called the ER, so upon our arrival, we were rushed into a room surrounded by about 10 docs/nurses. During our 4.5 hour stay, they took blood from both of them, did an EKG on their hearts, and got an IV in Logan (unsuccessful on Conner...poor guy). All the tests came out fine, and towards the end of our visit, Poison Control let the doctor know that the REALLY lethal stuff was less than 1% of the cleaner. Conner's rash had also gone away fairly quickly after our arrival. And of course, Dennis left work (shocker....haha)..........to be with us.
The boys were GREAT the entire time...........they loved all the action in the ER, and Conner was loving all the firefighters rushing in and out. I'm SO, SO thankful that they were fine, and it is something I hope to never go through again. I've had the major Mother's Guilt for the last few days, but it's getting a little better!
These pictures are when we got home. We didn't know if they got the tire cleaner on their clothes, so they wore the hospital gowns home just in case.
Happy Birthday to me.....
I'm back!
SO.....I turned the big 35 last weekend.......UGH! The day started out great....Dennis got the boys and let me sleep in. I woke up to a dozen roses, breakfast, and Dennis and the boys were making pink cupcakes! Oh.....and I got 2 cards. One card was a "You're 5" Lightening McQueen card. I guess Conner insisted on getting me that card, and Dad hates to say no :) It was cute! And I got an I-owe-u iphone, which we are going to get soon - SUPER excited about that.
My laptop decided to die on me one day, so I've been computer-less for the last few months. I finally got a new HP laptop which I love. I'm going to try to get better about updating our blog, because I know that many years from now, I'll enjoy reading all the fun/craziness in our lives ;)
My parents, sister, Justin and Kaitlyn came over for brunch which was great. Then Dennis and I took off and my parents watched the boys. I just wanted
to chill and relax.....so we went to the club, lounged by the pool and read magazines....it was perfect. We ended the day with a delicious dinner at Cosmo Cafe downtown.......bye bye early thirties, I'll miss you ;) !!

Easter Fun
We had such a fun time over Easter, Conner is a great age to really get into it. He went on 5 easter egg hunts.......such a deprived little boy, he is. He had one at pre-school, one at the MOMS club party, one at our Clubhouse, one with Nanny and one on Easter at Michelle's house. He had this thing down pat by the 5th hunt. All he wanted was jelly beans and chocolate. He would even stop hunting for eggs, and just sit down to throw down a much candy as he could, until mean mommy would stop him. I noticed on the 5th hunt, he would see me, and walk the other way becuase he was scared I would take his candy away! I just didn't want him to barf, I really did have good intentions ;)Logan had fun too, but clearly had no clue what was going on. He started
to walk a few days before Easter, so that has been
to walk a few days before Easter, so that has been really cute to see. He loves to walk around and pat his big belly, it's hilarious. Conner continues to taunt him, and loves to get Logan "in trouble". The latest episode between the two boys was yesterday. I was in the kitchen, and the boys were "playing", when I heard Logan start screaming (frequent noise in our house). I'm not sure exactly what transpired, but most of the day, Logan's right eye looked hurt. He was squinting, and it was red, and you could tell the poor little guy was in pain. I took them to the doctor in the afternoon, and turned out he had a "corneal abrasion"......which is basically a scratch in his cornea. We got some medicine on it right away, and he seems much better today. The eye heals itself pretty quickly, so luckily, it's nothing major. Jury's out on exactly how this happened, but I have a feeling, it was a cute little blonde 3 year old that had SOMETHING to do with it ;) !!

Logan's Baptism
I may be the worst blogger ever. If I have free time, I seem to find myself laying on the couch watching trashy TV (like The Bachelor, Rock of Love, Real Housewives.....you get the picture)! The past month has been really busy, but lots of fun. This past weekend was a big one for us, our little baby was baptised! Since the Catholic church we belong to is in the process of being built, we had the actual baptism ceremony at the Priest's house. Uncle Tony of course performed the baptism, and he did an exceptional job...as always. Logan wore Conner's hand-me-down, totally pimped out white tuxedo. It is seriously CLASSIC!! My mom walked in, saw Logan, and said "where is the Mariachi Band"?? If you saw this tux, it's an honest question. The thing was so tight on him, that we almost had to cut the sleeves. His wrists are getting so chunky we could barely get the sleeves past 'em. I clearly wanted him to wear this really bad ;) Oh, and during the Ceremony, big bro Conner was quite antsy to put it lightly. He was doing sprints up and down the priests house, and wasn't very quiet about it. Oh well, what do you expect for a 3 year old! Logan's godparents are Aunt Mary Kate and Uncle Tom.....what a lucky little guy!
Post baptism we had a little party at our house. The kids had a blast destroying the house and loading up on juice and cake ;)
I took a similar picture of Logan in his outfit, as we did with Conner about 2 years ago for Conner's baptism.......crazy how much they look alike at this age!

Conner's 3rd BD!
After the craziness of the holidays this year, we decided to celebrate Conner's 3rd BD in more of a low-key fashion (while we can get away with it!). We packed up the boys and drove up to the Nut Tree in Vacaville. Even though it has been completely renovated, it still brought back so many memories for me. I use to go with my family and my Grandpa growing up, and have so many fond memories of.........riding the train, eating those huge-yummy gingerbread cookies, eating pineapple dipped in marshmallow sauce, and just spending quality time with my Grandpa. I'm so glad we decided to go because it closed down for good about a week after we went!
We spent the morning there and OH MY, it was FREEZING. I think there was about 2 other families braving the cold with us, but we still had tons of fun. Conner's favorite ride was the Nut Tree train, but he also enjoyed the little airplane ride, the bumper cars with Dad, and driving the little dump-trucks. Logan enjoyed watching his brother run around, but I think he just wanted to defrost....he was a trooper though!
After the rides, we had lunch at our favorite pizza place that we used to eat at all the time on Union Street in SF, Amici's. Dennis and I were loving it, and our picky little 3 year old, wouldn't even eat it! Are you kidding me? I had made a back-up PB&J, so he enjoyed that on the ride home :)
That night, we had over our good friends and next door neighbors, Linda-James-Jack-Nathan for some cupcakes. It was really cute, we all sang to Conner and he really enjoyed blowing out his candles and powering through 2 cupcakes. I think we all had an even better time than the kids enjoying several glasses of mommy-juice and daddy-juice ;) It was the perfect ending to a great day!
